Latisha has worked in healthcare for 34 years. During that time, she has been a Certified Nursing Assistant, a Registered Nurse with specialties in critical care, cardiac and respiratory care, Clinical Coordinator and Nurse Manager. Latisha has experience working in both the acute care and long-term health care settings. Latisha believes the essence of most problems in healthcare can be distilled down to a breakdown in communication. Be it between patients and their caregivers, or between policy makers and populations (and everything in between). She is an experienced and passionate instructor who has tailored the proven de-escalation concepts of Verbal Judo to fit the current needs of  the healthcare profession.

Latisha holds an Associates of Applied Science degree in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and Communication and her Master of Arts in Communication.  She has earned her certification as a patient experience professional (CPXP) from the Beryl Institute. Latisha authored and published two peer reviewed papers in the Proceedings of the New York State Communication Association and in the Journal of Healthcare Leadership. Among her significant previous roles Latisha served as an Electronic Warfare Voice Interceptor/Russian Linguist in the U.S. Army.
