Our Instructors
Cinthia Labrie holds a BSc in Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Plant Pathology from Université de Sherbrooke. With a background in Food Safety, she began her career with the Canadian Federal Government in 2003 as a quality assurance technician for the National Defense’s Combat Ration Program. Later, she moved to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, where she eventually became manager for the Animal Pathogen Importation Program. In 2013, Cinthia joined the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Centre for Biosecurity as the Licensing Program Manager.
With over 20 years of experience as a biocontainment inspector, Cinthia has taken on numerous additional responsibilities within the Centre. She serves as a super user and subject matter expert for the Shared Case Management System and is one of the primary bilingual trainers for the Centre.
She was first introduced to Verbal Judo in 2010 while working at CFIA and has been a Verbal Judo trainer for Health Canada / Public Health Agency of Canada since 2015. Additionally, she trains and mentors other employees on Tactical Communications, Field Safety and Foundation of Regulations, among other topics.
